"Nowhere" Royal Caribbean Cruise from Singapore

We booked our Royal Caribbean 5D4N cruise ticket for Dec 2020!! We were so excited and really looking forward for this long awaited holiday.  This is the first time that we bring our 2 children in the cruise, so we chose Junior Suite Room with Large Balcony.

4 days before departure, finally we got the email that we need to book our rtPCR test session. So I clicked right away to confirm, but all the dates were fully booked!! So my husband called the Eurofin at: +65 67978896 and were given the only slot left, that is at 3 pm the next day.

The test was done in Raffles City Convention Center, and into the room we need to go in 2 by 2. So I brought by elder boy, and my husband with my sleeping little girl to a different room. The swab test was quite painful and very uncomfortable for me, I got swabbed in both of my nostrils. Luckily it was only 1 side for the children. But the process was very fast and smooth. We finished around 15 mins after we come and start queueing up. That very night we got the result online.

On the D day, we arrived in the Marina Bay Cruise Centre at 3 pm, based on our arrival timing booking from the Apps. We bought only luggage, PASSPORT, Trace Together device (TT TOKEN) and all the booking confirmation was on the Royal Caribbean Apps in our phone. Yes, we still need to bring our passport since the ship will still sail to international water during this cruise to nowhere. For the kids or even for yourself, please bring lanyard that can both put in Sea Pass card and TT token. It will be really helpful.

We went to baggage dropping first then we went to the check-in counter in level 2. I think they separate the Singapore passport in level 1 and non Singapore passport in level 2. The luggage will be delivered to your stateroom in 2 - 3 hours time, so make sure u have anything important like medication, baby stuff, etc on handbag instead of in the luggage. Please DO NOT bring any of the Prohibited Items such as Alcoholic drink, electrical extension cable. Coz it will caused ur baggage to be delayed. Here is the link to complete list of prohibited items for Royal Caribbean Singapore cruise:

Oh anyway, apparently Junior Suite was NOT considered a suite guest. We couldn't use the suite lane for the check-in counter. Here we need to show our Singapore IC card, our Passport, took photos of us if we haven't done so from the Apps and gave us a blue watch called 'tracelet'. From here we went back down to level 1 to proceed to Immigration.

Right after the Immigration, supposedly we can go to the ship directly. BUT only to be told that we need printed "barcoded set sail pass". WHAT'S THAT? Nobody mention anything about printed "barcoded set sail pass" up to this point. No instruction from the email to print anything and nor from the check-in lady. We thought all documents needed was in the Apps. Okay, we were stuck between the immigration and the ship. 1 of the staff there ran back in to print the necessary "barcoded set sail pass" for us. So if you read this posting, make sure you get this papers before go thru immigration.

Finally we can board the ship now!! We needed to go to our stateroom directly to get our Sea Pass card there and watch a certain TV channel showing the safety guidance protocols. Then go to the muster station to receive our sticker on our Sea Pass card. Only after everyone do so, we can sail away!!

Our Junior Suite Room wasn't that big, but still have space for all 4 of us! AND my children love the bathtub :) They have 2 bathrobes, hairdryer, 2 cups, some tea and coffee, and a coffee machine. They're very generous with the towels, soap shampoo and lotion in the toilet, but no toothbrush. The sofa-bed later on will be changed to a comfortable bed every time we went out for dinner. So all in all, we're still grateful to have this room.

The electrical plug in the room is American plug 2 pin, European 2 hole plug and there are 2 USB port. We can charge our Singapore phone in the USB plug. If you want to save space in the luggage, no need to bring the head of the charger. Just the cable would be enough. We were given 4 bottled water in the room for this 1st day only. Please do not throw away the bottle since it's our only water lifeline if you don't purchase Beverage package nor do not want to buy Royal Caribbean giant plastic cup (not anti-spill). We can refill our bottled water in the restaurant during meal time, or in the Promenade cafe that opens long hours.

We were too naive to think once we board the ship, we can relax and enjoy everything on board, no need to think anything. Hahahaha..
